Training and Leadership Development
Neighborhood Leadership Academy
The City of Tallahassee offers the Neighborhood Leadership Academy (NLA) to equip residents with the knowledge, resources, and networking opportunities to help become effective neighborhood leaders. The NLA is an instructional and interactive program designed to empower residents with specialized knowledge about how their local government operates. Neighborhood leaders increase their understanding of City programs and processes through engagement with various City departments, and participants are given the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with City staff. The NLA facilitates civic engagement with neighborhood leaders and City staff through a 10-week program each fall, between September and November. Sessions are held one day a week from 6:00 - 8:00pm at various City facilities.
Interested applicants must be:
- At least 18 years of age
- A resident of the City of Tallahassee
- Willing to commit to one night per week for 10 weeks
